Supplies:
1/4" wood
wire
pine and berries
sealer spray
wood glue and hot glue
Delta Ceramcoat Paints:
Ivory, Spice Brown, Black Cherry,
Golden Brown & Deep River Green
checkerboard stencil
tracing/graphite paper
Raffia
scrap fabric
sand paper and drill

Instructions:

Trace out sign and star on 1/4" wood. You may reduce or enlarge pattern to fit your desired size. Cut out, drill holes and sand. Wipe wood free of dust.

Painting:

Ivory: sign
Golden Brown: star
Spice Brown: shade star and sign
Deep River Green: checkerboard stencil across bottom of sign.
Let all pieces dry.
Ivory: thin with a bit of water and line star on the star. Dot ends of star.
Transfer lettering onto sign with graphite/tracing paper.
Black Cherry: thin with a bit of water and line letters. Dot ends of letters.
Let dry.

Finishing:

Wood glue star onto sign. Brad nail if you want more security. Spray entire project with clear gloss sealer and let dry. Add wire to sign and twist ends. Take a strip of fabric and tie into a bow on the wire. Add a dap of hot glue to the back over the wire to secure the bow so it won't spin on the wire. Take some raffia and start to tie in a bow on the wire in the center of the fabric. When you've made just the knot, hot glue in a piece of pine and some berries. Finish making the raffia bow. Trim ends. This project is so quick and easy, you'll be able to make a bunch to sell at shows, add to the tops of packages and gifts to add that special touch.
