Chunky Yarns

I love my funky chunky!

Irish Tweed from Katia, Spain

Heath beginning to drool here.

Do excuse me folk, its a medical condition thats quite uncontrollable when I see gorgeous yarns.
I don't really mind but it does make the yarn a bit icky!

Irish Tweed is again a chunky, but this one is something really special. I can't even begin to describe the levels of textural complexity that are involved in its make-up.

There is not the same kind of meterage in Irish Tweed as there is in other chunkies, 65m on a 50g ball as opposed to what seems to be the norm of around 80m.

But there is a reason for this.
Half the ball is wool, one quarter is nylon and the last quarter is silk.
So yes you lose out on length but you gain on quality.

Unfortunately I now have none left to sell you. That drooling problem went a bit over-the-top and made a right mess of everything!

Price - £3.25

oh yes £3.25 and with silk.

Irish Tweed, you won't find better. Standard chunky patterns can be used but we also stock Katia books starring this yarn.

Arctic from Katia, Spain

I now transfer my drooling over to Arctic.
This is a superchunky yarn so not a standard chunky. Recommended needle size is 9mm. However, all the patterns I have come across for this yarn actually treat it as an Aran!!! Using needles nearly half the thickness.

A 50/50 mix of wool to synthetic.
